Our Sources of Funds

The Thomas Fund intends to solicit donations from companies around the globe. We continuously seek partners to sponsor our functions. Additionally, we raise funds from donations and contributions during our dinners, mixers, and auctions. With our foundation, we are able to raise funds to help the residents of King George VI Home for the Aged and the Sierra Leone Association of the Blind.

About Our Trustees

The Thomas Fund is led by Dr. and Mrs. Robert Thomas who operate a spectrum of supports for adults with developmental disabilities in Washington D.C. They have been supporting a variety of charities using their personal funds for a number of years and have extensive experience in ensuring accountability for the funds they disseminate. Additionally, the very supportive extended family members and board members bring diverse abilities, accountability, and experience in charitable endeavors in a variety of disadvantaged arenas.

Accountability and Transparency in Our Organization

The respective Board of Governors for the King George VI Home for the Aged and the Sierra Leone Association of the Blind has contracted with external auditors to ensure that funds are accounted for. The Thomas Fund will also identify specific and tangible needs and disburse the funds directly to the parties providing the goods and services for which the funds are raised. Additionally, at least one member of the board will visit Sierra Leone and review the books with the external auditors on a yearly basis.
